Artisan & NGO Mobilization Associate
This is a chance for MSW and Social Marketing professionals to travel out to the real India to mobilize artisans and artisan groups who have traditionally never operated in a collective fashion. This has led to them being poorly organized and having limited recourse to institutional support. The very first activity in improving artisans’ access to markets is to identify, aggregate and list genuine crafts persons and craft-based NGOs.
Marketing & Social Media Specialist
This is a purposeful role for a passionate marketing, business development or social media professional to contribute to building a brand that symbolizes India’s finest crafts and artisans. The aim is to market authentic handmade Indian craftsmanship (including languishing and forgotten crafts) to a much larger market in India and abroad and facilitate direct linkages between buyer and artisan for custom orders; thereby making craft a route for sustainable livelihoods for poor and disenfranchised artisans.
Merchandiser (Contemporary Handcrafts)
This is a key role in the organization for a merchandising professional to help artisans create and deliver outstanding handmade products for discerning urban consumers. The merchandiser will work with product designers and artisans on one hand and the marketing team on the other to oversee production of 2-3 collections per year, in designated craft clusters across the country. S/He will handle the entire product life-cycle – sampling, production and order delivery for the signature range of products as well as custom orders. The craft forms include handwoven wool & silk, wood carving, glass work, rug weaving and marble inlay.
